Thin Line Counseling and Consulting, LLC (“Thin Line,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides behavioral health services to individuals and to public safety agencies. This policy explains what information we collect through our website and communications, how we use it, and how we protect it.
Clinical services provided by Thin Line are subject to federal and state health privacy law, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Protected health information created or maintained in the course of clinical care is governed by our Notice of Privacy Practices, which is provided to clients at intake, and by applicable law. We collect only what is necessary to schedule services, coordinate care, and meet our obligations under agency agreements.
We use the information described above to schedule and confirm appointments, communicate with you about services, coordinate care, maintain clinical and business records, and meet reporting obligations under contracts with public safety agencies.
Where services are provided under a contract with a public safety agency, the information reported to that agency is strictly limited by the terms of the agreement.
For required annual wellness check-ins, the contracting agency receives only the participant’s name, employee or badge number, and the date the check-in was completed, for attendance and compliance purposes. The content of any session, including anything discussed, screening results, and referral information, is never disclosed to the agency.
For voluntary counseling sessions, the contracting agency receives aggregate, de-identified utilization information only. Participation by any individual is not reported.
